Moondance: A Spring Celebration of Sculpture Inspired by the Moon
The moon has long captivated artists with its mystery, romance, and quiet beauty—and this spring, it’s taking center stage in “Moondance,” the newest gallery show by the Sculptors Workshop at the Frances Anderson Center in Edmonds.
Running from April 7 through May 22, 2025, the exhibit showcases a stunning collection of moon-inspired ceramic works created by members of this long-standing local arts organization.
From a wolf howling at the moon to a whimsical ballroom-dancing tea set, the show reflects a variety of interpretations—scientific, natural, and imaginative. Expect to see pieces inspired by nursery rhymes, lunar phases, and the ever-changing skies. The artworks range from functional dinnerware to sculptural forms, all unified by a common celestial theme.
The Sculptors Workshop, now in its 58th year in the Edmonds community, is a non-profit group of 38 artists ranging from beginners to advanced. They work year-round in two dedicated rooms at the Frances Anderson Center, and their creativity shines in every piece they produce.
Don’t miss the chance to meet the artists in person! Join them for an opening reception on April 17 from 5–8pm in the FAC lobby. It's a great opportunity to connect with this fun, serious, and creative group and learn more about the stories behind their work.
In addition to the gallery show, a Display Case exhibit will continue through June 26, 2025, offering even more chances to experience the magic of “Moondance.”
Whether you're a longtime art lover or just curious about clay, this show is a beautiful and inspiring way to celebrate the changing seasons and the eternal pull of the moon.
